Have you ever seen a miracle? Some people think that miracles are just found in the bible. Some may even think that miracles can’t and don’t happen today.
I don’t agree.
Sure, we may or may not experience the jaw dropping, heart throbbing, “mountain-moving” kind of miracles in our lifetime but that certainly doesn’t mean that the power of Jesus can’t accomplish them!
Actually miracles happen everyday, and all the time. Perhaps it’s not that they don’t happen but rather that we don’t recognize them.
Think about it. The fact that the sun shines, fire gives warmth, the ocean supplies fish, the earth provides grain, women give birth to children, and hens lay eggs? These things happen everyday. Does that make it any less significant?
If the sun stopped shining for a week, and then suddenly began shining again, that would be a big deal. Or if fire only existed in one place on earth, it would become pretty important, don't you think? Or if there were only one well in the entire world, a drop of water would become priceless.
God showers us with wonderful and rich blessings everyday, but we so often take them for granted. Do we even recognize these blessings as amazing miracles from God?
The psalmist says in Psalm 111:2, Great are the works of the LORD, they are pondered by all who delight in them. The psalmist points out that the Lord’s works are great, but these works are appreciated only in the eyes of God’s faithful followers.
Take a moment today to admire, be thankful and be delighted in the everyday miracles God showers upon you!
Join us this Sunday as we gather around the Lord’s Table and conclude our two part series entitled, In God’s House. In this week’s message we'll look at 1 Kings 17: 7-22 and talk about how, once we’ve embraced our place (In God's House), God can and will use unlikey people like you and me to activate miracles!
Please plan to join us. It’s not the same without you!
